A Journey Through Healthcare: Meet the Girl Behind thestudentrmedies.com

Hello everyone!

Welcome to thestudentrmedies.com! This is our first time getting introduced! I promise that the blog posts you see here will be quite entertaining and, most definitely, helpful in your understanding of healthcare. I won’t promise the most elegant or refined writing you’ve ever read, but I do swear to do my best to give you helpful tips—ones that will make you more aware of the little things you can do in your daily life to improve your lifestyle when it comes to healthcare advice.

But I think I’m getting a tad bit ahead of myself. I mean, how do I expect you to take my advice seriously if you don’t even know me? So, let’s start with that first: Hello! My name is Amaira Jhaveri. I am 16 years old and currently in the 11th grade at Adani International School, Ahmedabad, India. I’m about 5’2″ with an awful history of teeth and jaw alignment issues (I’ve had braces for over 5 years!) and have recently moved to a new state in India. You may have guessed that already, though, from the fact that my school is in Ahmedabad. Thankfully, I’m having a good time here, so you’ll hear all about the new people I’ve met and the things I’ve learned from this state where my roots lie.

Yes, I am Gujarati, but my parents and grandparents were born and raised in Mumbai. For years now, my extended family has been there, and I was born there too. I’m also—according to my father, at least—a ‘world traveler.’ In his defense, that’s just his way of convincing me and my brother that moving around (4 states in 16 years, back and forth between 2 states, and moving 6 homes) is actually really cool. I used to think it was, frankly, lame of him to say that, but now I realize he might have a point. Not only have I moved around more than anyone else I know in India, but I’ve also been fortunate enough to visit many diverse countries across the world with my family, and that does, indeed, make me a world traveler.

Now, you may wonder why I’m making this part of my—supposed to be brief—introduction. The reason is so I can flex about all the cool things I think I’ve done in my life. 😎

Joking!

That was very narcissistic—a quality my mother says I’ve inherited from my father. Personally, I think it’s from her, but that’s a secret she can never know. The REAL reason I’m sharing this is so I can tell you about my experiences interacting with locals, visiting awe-inspiring places in those countries, and learning how they incorporate healthy living into their lives. I’ll be posting those insights here so that all of you amazing people out there can learn from them too.

Healthcare is my passion. With my father being in the same field, I’ve had incredible opportunities to meet and talk to some of the world’s leading healthcare professionals. Over the years, I’ve learned so many amazing things about this field, which has built the foundation of my love for healthcare from the very beginning. That love has grown in every state we’ve moved to and every country we’ve visited.

I’m starting this blog to share just a little bit of that love with all of you who want to improve your life by improving your health and becoming more aware of the world of healthcare. I truly hope, with all my heart, that my readers out there—no matter where you are—learn to love healthcare just as much as I do.

I know we’re going to have the best time together, no matter how long you decide to stay! Just remember, this girl from Mumbai—but now in Ahmedabad—will always have her little stories and tips to share with you all.

Until we meet again!

Namaste!
